Gunnar Optiks manufacturers glasses that are specifically made for computer users. Both the frames and lenses are supposedly designed to cut down on eye strain and fatigue by limiting glare and preventing moisture from escaping the eyes. Well, that didn’t work! I thought it would be pretty easy to convert to Subtext from Wordpress (even though it’s a bit of a hack) as I mentioned in this blog post. However, I was very mistaken. I was able to export from SubText to BlogML (after installing Wordpress on my local machine etc) but the outputted BlogML file caused an error while importing to SubText. One word: nice! The install was easy and everything worked right out of the box – even my Dell Wireless 802.11n card which Vista had numerous problems with. My Dell Webcam software was actually installed too, which is pretty nice. All in all, I’m happy. The interface is very clean and much more productive than any other version of Windows. I got tired of my Wordpress.com hosted version of Wordpress and moved over to SubText on my own host. I'm transferring the important posts here. This should give me some more control...
Turns out it's not so easy to transfer between Wordpress and SubText. Wordpress provides export functionality to a Wordpress compatible format (called WXR). SubText on the other hand accepts BlogML format for the imports.
Luckily, someone took most of the legwork out of the conversion already. There's a Wordpress BlogML export utility over on codeplex that replaces the built in export utility of Wordpress so that instead of outputting WXR...
